I had a few extra special sessions this year. Every senior I work with holds a special place in my heart, but when I’ve known them their entire lives, it just means a little more. Corey is the son of my best friend, so this session was extra meaningful for me.
I didn’t know Corey quite as well as his brother when they were younger — we were living in Colorado when he was born, and his brother is my son’s age, so those two spent a lot of time together growing up. But when I sat down with Corey for his consultation and then worked with him during his session, I really got to see what an incredible young man he’s become. He’s kind, grounded, and easy to be around; the kind of person who makes everyone feel comfortable.
We started his session in one of my favorite alleys in Green Bay. I love this location for its vibe and perfect lighting. The nearby street area with its bold red doors and windows adds such a fun, urban touch to the photos. From there, we drove back to Appleton and finished up at Bubolz Nature Preserve, which was the perfect contrast — soft light, woods, and a peaceful feel. And of course, we couldn’t end the session without a few shots in his football jersey!
I loved everything about this day — the easy laughter, the relaxed energy, and getting to capture such a special milestone for someone I’ve known since he was little.
Sessions like this one are a reminder of why I love what I do.
