Sister Session at Smith Park & Bubolz Nature Preserve
These two sisters were such a joy to work with. From the moment we met to plan their session, I could tell it was going to be something special. They both had such fun and unique personalities.
We started the afternoon at Smith Park in Menasha — one of my favorite spots for sessions. This park has so much to offer: colorful flowers, a beautiful historic building, charming bridges, a peaceful waterfront, and of course, the stunning willow tree that’s perfect for portraits. It’s one of those places where every turn gives you a new backdrop to fall in love with. Their outfits complemented the setting perfectly — one casual and one dressy — giving us a nice variety of looks.
After spending some time at Smith Park, we made our way to Bubolz Nature Preserve for a more natural, earthy feel. Bubolz is always a favorite location of mine because it’s filled with winding trails, rustic structures, tall grasses, and wildflowers that seem to glow in the evening light. It’s such a serene spot and always brings a peaceful energy to the session.
I also loved that the girls decided to include their track uniforms for part of the shoot. It was the perfect way to tie in something meaningful to them and to celebrate a big part of their high school experience.
The entire evening felt effortless. It’s sessions like this that remind me why I love what I do.
