Have you ever met someone and just known, right from the very beginning, that they were genuinely good people? You can't always explain it, but sometimes you just feel it. That was exactly how I felt the first time I met the new owners of Whistler's Knoll.


Charlotte and I first connected online while planning this branding session. From our very first conversation, I could tell she was kind, welcoming, and passionate about what she and her husband were creating. A few weeks later, I had the chance to meet Nick in person, and he was every bit as warm and genuine.

Spending the evening with the two of them felt less like work and more like catching up with old friends.


As I wandered around the vineyard with my camera, it was impossible not to notice the love and care they've poured into every corner of this incredible property.

 

We started inside the main barn, and I have to say—it is absolutely beautiful. The rich wood beams, sparkling chandeliers, rustic tables, and carefully chosen décor create the perfect balance of elegance and charm. It has that cozy, shabby chic feel that instantly makes you want to sit down, stay awhile, and celebrate life's special moments. I could already picture weddings, family gatherings, and laughter filling the space.

From there, we made our way over to the outdoor pizza oven, where Nick and Evan got to work. There is something so satisfying about watching someone who truly loves what they do. The smell of fresh dough baking, the crackle of the fire, and the care they put into every pizza made the experience just as enjoyable as the meal itself. And let me tell you...the pizza is incredible. Easily some of the best I've ever had.

But the food doesn't stop there. Whistler's Knoll also serves delicious fries, fresh salads, and beautiful charcuterie boards that are almost too pretty to eat. (Almost.)


While the guys worked their magic at the pizza oven, Charlotte crafted a few of their signature drinks for us to photograph. They were every bit as beautiful as they were refreshing, and yes—we absolutely had to sample them after the photos were finished.

One of my favorite moments of the afternoon came when we wandered into the vineyard for portraits of Charlotte and Nick.

There wasn't anything overly posed or complicated about it. They simply laughed together, talked, and enjoyed being in each other's company. Those are always my favorite kinds of photographs—the ones where people can simply be themselves. Their love for each other and for this place shines through so naturally.

As the afternoon came to an end, we explored the gardens and patio, soaking in the peaceful atmosphere. It was one of those places that makes you want to slow down.

You can imagine spending an evening there with family or friends, sharing great food, sipping a refreshing drink, and watching the sun disappear behind the vines.

The more time I spent at Whistler's Knoll, the more I realized that what makes this place so special isn't just the beautiful venue or the incredible food—it's the people behind it.

Charlotte and Nick have created more than just a vineyard. They've created a place where people can gather, celebrate, relax, and make memories together.


I left that day with a full camera, a full stomach, and an even fuller heart.


If you haven't made the trip out to Whistler's Knoll yet, I truly hope you do. Come for the pizza, stay for the wine, the views, and the atmosphere—but don't be surprised if it's the people who make you want to come back again and again.
