A week of music, great kids and a bit photography.
When we lived in Colorado we met the wonderful Cody family, Heather, Steve and their beautiful daughters, Megan and Maddie. We got to know each other from MOMS Club and Heather was actually the first person I met when we moved, and I am still so happy she reached to me. Through the four years we were there, we spent time doing activities with our kids, going to parties and just spending time visiting. When the girls were pretty young, their dad introduced them to music (he was a bass player after all) and they took to it like you would not believe. As the years went by, I was blown away by the music they were creating, the songs they were writing, and I loved watching their band grow its audience. From playing coffee shops to blue grass festivals to touring Europe and the US, The Cody Sisters are having the time of their lives!
This past summer, they played a festival in Door County and reached out to see if they could crash at our place for a few days before they next gig. I have always told their mom that we were here, if they ever needed a home away from home. I was so happy that they asked. It was fun to have some musical energy in the house and it was always interesting to come home and find them doing their things. One day I got home and found one under the tree writing, one under another tree practicing his bass, one on the patio drumming and one in the yard juggling.
Of course, while they were here, I HAD to suggest we go out and take some photos! I knew that Bubolz Nature Preserve would be the perfect place and I was thrilled when they loved the idea! They loaded up their instruments and we headed to the preserve. We spent a good hour or so walking around to various spots and capturing their fun personalities. You can see it so clearly in the images. One day, when they are crazy famous, I can say that I took their photos when they were just on the verge of hitting it big.
